Description
Homemade Red Sauce flavored with Beef and Pork.This Gravy recipe has been passed down
from my Grandmother, over the years I have adapted it slightly (My Nana would use Veal
bones and a lot more wine) to be what I consider the perfect Italian American Red Sauce aka
Gravy.
Ingredients
1 pound Country Style Pork Ribs or Pork Chops bone on
1 pound any type meat on Beef Rib
2-4 tablespoons Olive Oil
1 large sweet onion, peeled and diced
4 cloves garlic, peeled and diced
4 - 28 oz can Kitchen Ready Ground Peeled Tomatoes
1 Cup Beef Stock/Broth, which ever you have on hand
1½ cups Red or White wine
2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 rounded tablespoon dried Oregano
1 rounded tablespoon dried Basil
1 rounded tablespoon Granulated/Powder Garlic
2-4 tablespoons sugar (amount will depend on acidity of the tomatoes and personal taste)
