Juicy seasoned beef patties with a delicious onion and mushroom gravy
Ingredients
2 Lbs. ground beef
½ cup milk
½ cup bread crumbs
1 large egg
¼ cup beef base (Like Better Than Bullion or your favorite beef bullion)
1 teaspoon Kosher salt (Depending on how salty the beef base is you use) additional salt
may not be needed.
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 large onion, sliced
1 cup thinly sliced mushrooms or to taste or if you do not like mushrooms omit.
4 cups beef broth
½ cup cornstarch and ½ cup cold water for a cornstarch slurry to thicken the gravy.
Instructions
In a large bowl combine the milk, Worcestershire Sauce, Beef Base, Eggs and the salt &
pepper. Add ground beef and mix well. Form into 4-6 equal sized patties and brown on both
sides in a large skillet.
Remove patties to a plate, reserving any fat in the pan, cover and set aside. Add the onions
and statue for 3-4 minutes, add mushrooms and continue to saute another 2-3 minutes.
Add the beef broth to the skillet and bring to a boil, return the patties to the skillet, reduce
heat to a simmer, loosely cover and simmer for 1 hour. Make a cornstarch slurry and drizzle
into simmering broth till desired thickness. Serve Hot.
